About MEGAWIN

Independent reviews you can actually trust

MEGAWIN is a specialist guide to non-UK casinos and slots not on GamStop. We exist to give UK players honest, tested information about offshore gambling sites — including the risks — so the choice you make is an informed one, not a sales-led one. Every operator we list is registered, funded and cashed out with our own money before a single word is written.

James Holloway

Lead Casino Analyst · iGaming since 2014

James has worked in and around the online gambling industry for over a decade, first as a payments analyst at a licensed operator and since 2018 as an independent reviewer. He has personally tested more than 300 casinos and is the author of every operator score on this site.

For each review, James registers a real account, deposits his own money, plays a range of games and completes at least one withdrawal before writing a word — because a casino's payout behaviour tells you far more than its marketing does. He specialises in non-UK licensing, bonus-term analysis and payout testing.

Why we cover non-UK casinos

Plenty of UK players deliberately look for casinos outside the GamStop scheme, and they do it for a range of reasons — bigger bonuses, a wider game choice, fewer affordability checks, or simply because a previous self-exclusion has expired and they want to play again. That demand is real and it is not going away. Our view is that pretending the non-UK market does not exist helps nobody; documenting it honestly, with the trade-offs spelled out plainly, does.

So that is what we do. We are not here to cheerlead offshore gambling, and we are not here to scare you off it either. On every page we tell you what a site does well, where it falls short, and — crucially — what protections you give up by playing somewhere the UK Gambling Commission does not regulate. If a casino is slow to pay, buries a punishing wagering term, or runs a licence we would not trust, we say so, regardless of whether it pays us a commission.

If you have self-excluded through GamStop because gambling was causing you harm, the honest advice is simple: this is not the site for you, and seeking out non-UK casinos to get around that exclusion is itself a warning sign. Please keep the exclusion in place and talk to GamCare instead.

What "non-UK" and "not on GamStop" actually mean

A non-UK casino is one licensed somewhere other than the United Kingdom — most commonly by the Curaçao Gaming Authority or the newer Anjouan Gaming Authority, and occasionally by larger regulators such as Malta. Because it holds no UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) licence, it is not connected to GamStop, the free national self-exclusion scheme that every UK-licensed site must use.

That difference cuts both ways, and it is the single most important thing to understand before you play:

  • What you gain: typically larger welcome bonuses, a broader game library, crypto payment options, and lighter identity and affordability checks at sign-up.
  • What you lose: UKGC consumer protection, the GamStop self-exclusion safety net, UK dispute-resolution and ombudsman routes, and the strict advertising and fairness rules UK operators must follow.

Neither side of that trade is hidden on this site. Our job is to make the gains real (which operators actually deliver them) and the losses clear (what you are giving up to get them), so you can decide with both in front of you. Our editorial policy

MEGAWIN is editorially independent. Our reviews, scores and rankings are decided by our testing process and our writers — never by commercial relationships. We follow three non-negotiable principles:

  • We test before we publish. No operator appears on this site until we have funded a real account and completed a withdrawal.
  • Commission never buys a score. We earn affiliate fees when readers sign up through our links, but those fees do not change a single rating. An operator that pays the most commission can — and does — rank below one that pays less.
  • We show the risks. Because these are offshore sites, every page makes the lack of UK regulation clear. We will not hide the downsides to make a sale.

How we review casinos

Every casino is scored out of 10 using the same five weighted criteria, so reviews are directly comparable rather than gut-feel:

Licence & safety25% — licence verification, encryption, fair-play certification, responsible-gambling tools
Payout speed20% — a real, timed withdrawal across every method offered
Bonus fairness20% — wagering, max-bet caps, game weighting and time limits
Game library20% — range, providers, RTP transparency and quality
Customer support15% — live-chat speed, accuracy and availability

Each test follows the same sequence: we verify the licence at source, register and complete identity checks, deposit real funds, claim and read the full bonus terms, play across slots and live tables, contact support with genuine questions, and then request a withdrawal and time how long it actually takes to arrive. Only then is a score assigned.

Scores are not set once and forgotten. Each operator is re-tested at least twice a year, and immediately if it changes its licence, bonus terms or payment options. The "last tested" date on every review tells you exactly how current the information is. Read a worked example in our InstaSpin Casino review, or see all operators in the reviews hub.

How we make money

We believe you should know exactly how a site that recommends gambling operators pays its bills, so here it is in plain terms. MEGAWIN is funded entirely by affiliate commission. When you click through to an operator from one of our links and go on to register, that operator may pay us a fee. It costs you nothing — the bonus and terms you receive are identical to going direct — and it is how we fund the testing that goes into every review.

The firewall between that funding and our editorial is absolute. Commission rates are not visible to our reviewers while they score a site, no operator can pay for a better rating or a higher position, and we publish the operators that fail our tests with the same prominence as the ones that pass. If a site we earn from is slow to pay or runs an unfair bonus, the review will say so. An affiliate relationship is the start of our scrutiny, never the end of it.

Our commitment

Responsible gambling

We cover non-UK casinos, but we will always put player safety first. Gambling should be entertainment, not a way to make money or escape stress. Because the sites we review sit outside the GamStop scheme, it is even more important to set your own limits — the guard rails a UK site would impose are not there by default.

  • Set a budget before you play and never chase losses.
  • Use deposit and time limits — most operators offer them; use them.
  • Take regular breaks and never gamble with money you cannot afford to lose.
  • If you have self-excluded via GamStop for harm reasons, keep that exclusion in place. Seeking out non-UK sites to bypass it is a warning sign worth talking to someone about.

Corrections, contact & feedback

We get things wrong sometimes, and when we do we want to fix them fast. If you spot an out-of-date bonus, a payout experience that does not match ours, or any factual error, tell us and we will re-test and update the page — corrections are dated so you can see what changed. Player feedback is one of the triggers that prompts an early re-review, so it genuinely shapes what is published here. You can reach the editorial team through the contact details in the site footer.

FAQ

About MEGAWIN — common questions

Our reviews are written and tested by James Holloway, our lead casino analyst, with fact-checking from our wider editorial team. James has covered the online gambling industry since 2014 and personally completes the deposit and withdrawal test for each operator we publish.

MEGAWIN is funded by affiliate commission — when a reader signs up with an operator through one of our links, we may receive a fee. This never influences our scores or rankings, and we publish operators that fail our tests as openly as those that pass.

No. The casinos we cover are licensed outside the UK, most commonly by the Curaçao Gaming Authority or the Anjouan Gaming Authority. They are not regulated by the UK Gambling Commission, so UK protections such as GamStop self-exclusion and UKGC dispute resolution do not apply.

Every casino review is re-tested at least twice a year, and sooner if an operator changes its bonus terms, licence or payment options. Each page shows the date it was last tested.

No. Commission rates play no part in scoring. An operator that pays us more can and does rank below one that pays less. Scores come only from our weighted testing criteria.
